Lenten Special! For all you folks avoiding meat on Fridays, we got you covered! Check out this Crispy Thai Calamari Salad made with local Rhode Island calamari coated in sourdough pretzel breadcrumbs, tossed with jalapeños, shaved carrots, peanuts & mixed greens. We had a special delivery come through yesterday from our friends at Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse. They produce truly amazing and unique raw milk cheeses from their own small amount of 100% grass fed cattle and you can taste the difference. One cheese is their ‘Drumm’, a semi-firm beauty that has a sharp creamy grassy and flower like aroma and taste. The other is ‘Frolic’, a collaboration with 3 Amish graziers and is a bit more firm with a sweet nutty flavor and nice fresh herbal finish. They’ll both be on the cheese board soon so stay tuned! Just tapped! This time a rare addition from the amazingly talented folks down at Kane Brewing here in New Jersey. This brew is named ‘SBX’ formerly ‘Imperial Sneakbox’. Brewed with American two-row, red wheat malt, malted oats and caramalt. For the hop addition it’s Citra in the whirlpool then followed up with a massive dry-hop of Citra & Galaxy. If you’re a fan of Sneakbox or Kane or hops in general this is a must. So come grab one before it’s all out! Only at Ava’s!

Special Pie Alert! We have a new pie on the menu tonight - ‘ The San Daniele’ with Prosciutto San Daniele, Radish, Peas and a beautiful cream sauce made of Grana Padano. Delicate and savory, come get one soon before it’s on to the next one! Only at Ava’s!

We have our special guest tonight Wilson Oliver crafting some custom cocktails to enjoy so be sure to come by and experience one or have him concoct something special just for you!

Just Tapped! Two Brewing legends, Kane from here in Jersey and Unibroue up in Quebec! First the Kane ‘Coastal Plain’ - a pre-prohibtion Vienna-style lager, brewed with New Jersey grown barley, Vienna malt, and two different types of New Jersey grown corn—Stowell’s Evergreen and Bloody Butcher from our friends at Rabbit Hill malthouse”. Next is Unibroue ‘Éphémère Elderberry’ - a Belgian Style fruit flavored wheat ale, infusing their base wheat beer with not only Elderberry but also Elderflower to bring all of the nuances and color. So come and enjoy them both before it’s on to the next one!

From our esteemed friends and neighbors here in Kenilworth, Two Ton Brewing Co. This is their Extra Special Chocolate Vanilla Porter, poured through our Nitro Tap Line to truly showcase its smooth and delicately sweet roasty character. Two very special brews we recently tapped that you should absolutely check out. FIRST is Magically Bullicious from the Bolero Snort up in Ridgefield Park, NJ. It’s a Golden Stout (think Boddingtons) brewed with Oats, Milk Sugar & Marshmallows to evoke a subtle similarity to Lucky Charms and it’s way more gentle than you imagine as always from this talented brewery. NEXT we have Goose Island Sofie, a wonderful Belgian Saison that drinks more like a Champagne. It’s fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel. Sharp and focused is this delicate artisanal ale.

Check out one of tonight’s specials! House made Linguine Pasta with Braised Oxtail, cherry tomatoes, charred onions in a red wine sauce with a touch of cream. Plus just as our other bread products our pasta was made with the amazing Farmers Ground Organic Wheat Flour that we are so proud to use in our products not only for its amazing flavor but it’s health benefits as well. Farmer Ground Flour, from Trumansburg, NY. Up over by Cayuga Lake in the finger lakes just west of Ithaca. This is one of our favorite flour sources. Freshly and carefully milled then sent straight to us in which we give it the highest treatment of slow ferment with a natural starter so not to taint this magical ground grain. The flavor alone is worth the extra money for this high quality product that we use in our pizza, bread and pretzels - all done in a true slow ferment sourdough method. Our dough for our products is 100% Organic and locally milled fresh then in no way rushed for our results. Going through a long true fermentation to predigest the grain making it proper for good digestion. We do not rush the fermentation like most places whether it be bread or pizza. Get to know us, we want a product a level above that requires more care and attention and most of all . . . Love.
